ROBERT BYRD - CITY MANAGER

The City of Pooler utilizes a Council-Manager form of government. The City Manager is appointed by the Council and works with them on policy creation and then manages staff concerning implementation The position is responsible for directing and supervising the operations of Pooler. Managing and supervising all departments of the City to achieve goals using available resources. Responsibilities include preparing the annual budget , providing leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans, advising the Mayor and City Council of financial conditions and current and future needs of the City, and monitoring and ensuring compliance with state/federal regulations.

City Manager since 2004, Robert Byrd, is a lifelong resident of Pooler, married to Shelly and has five children: Sarah, Maggie, Tyler, Hallie, and Peyton. Byrd graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology

STEVEN SCHEER - CITY ATTORNEY

The City of Pooler Attorney provides legal advice and services to the City Manager, Mayor, City Council and city staff to ensure that policies, recommendations and administrative procedures undertaken are within accepted legal standards.

The City Attorney supervises the drafting of all ordinances and the preparation of legal documents, reviews and consults on city services and contracts, and provides legal opinions and counseling to the City Manager, Mayor, City Council and city staff.

At the direction of the City Manager, Mayor or City Council, the City Attorney's Office provides appropriate representation for the city in all legal proceedings. The City Attorney also would supervise and manage any special counsel, which may be utilized for their specific knowledge and expertise.

Steven Scheer who has been a member of the Georgia Bar since 1974 attended Law School at the University of Georgia after completing his BA, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in 1971

Andrea Anderson - Human Resources Director

The Human Resources Department is responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining one of the City's most valuable assets: its employees.

The HR Department oversees all Employee Benefits & Leave Administration, Health & Wellness Programs, Training, Compensation, Employee Relations, Safety & Compliance.

Michelle Warner - Finance Officer

Michelle obtained her Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Georgia in 2000. She is also a Certified Local Government Finance Officer through the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. She is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association, as well as the local Georgia chapter of this organization.

The Finance Department is responsible for establishing the annual budget, treasury management, accounts payable, property tax administration, and directing the annual audit procedure.

MARIBETH LINDLER - CITY CLERK

The City of Pooler Clerk preserves and provides public access to the City's official and historical records; provides support to the Mayor, City Council, and City Manager; and facilitates the City's overall legislative process.

The City Clerk also serves as Election Superintendent for Municipal Elections and qualifies all municipal candidates.

The City Clerk records Ordinances and Resolutions, as well as City Council related-materials such as Agendas & Minutes.

Copies of all public records are available through the City Clerk's Office by completing a Request for Open Records and submitting it to the City Clerks Office.

POLICE DEPARTMENT Police Chief Mark Revenew

Mark Revenewhas been an officer with the Pooler Police Department since 1984 and was promoted to Chief in 2010 to succeed the late Chief Chan who unexpectedly passed away while on vacation. Revenew previously served as Assistant Chief of Police since 2002. Chief Revenew is a Graduate of the FBI National Academy 166th Session and completed his Masters in Public Administration in 1995 from Georgia Southern University
